dragon year

January 8, 2012

The other day at lunch, my co-worker was talking about the Chinese calendar and mentioned that this coming year will be a “dragon year”. My 6 year old student did not hesitate to tell her “actually, it’s called the year of the dragon”. I would love to take some credit for their genius, but I think it’s really just innate in them.

For the upcoming dragon year, my resolution is to communicate better with friends and family and not lose contact with people who are important to me. Especially now that I have come to the point during my time in Korea when I have to start saying goodbye to co-workers and friends who have completed their contracts. Last night was our last night with Emiko and several other co-workers will be leaving at the end of February.

I really don’t want to lose touch with any of them, however I don’t think this blog is the most effective way to do so. I started writing it intending to not write so many e-mails, but I don’t think it’s been working. First of all, I don’t update it regularly. Secondly, I’m pretty sure the only people who read it are the people who I send e-mails to anyways, so I just end up writing double what I would have.

I’m not going to abandon the blog, but I won’t be writing long updates anymore. I’m going to keep it simple with a few videos or pictures of whatever I’m into at the time.

Speaking of videos, I realized that I haven’t posted any K-Pop yet!! I will post more soon, but for now here is one song that I have been listening to non-stop. I just watched the video for the first time… I love the time-machine Nikes! Let me know what you think!
